Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church Website Privacy Policy

Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church will follow these policies when collecting any personal information through its website or when publishing personal data or photographs of church members, visitors, staff, non-member staff, or tradespeople on its web site or in any other publication prepared by or sponsored by the church.

1. Personal information, including home or business address, home or business telephone numbers, email addresses, or other data that might lead a reader to the individual's home or business will not be included on the church web site or in any publication without written permission of the individual and approval of the pastor or his designee.

2. Publication of personal data or photographs in any official church directory shall be considered authorized by the individual(s) based on his/her membership in the church.

3. Personal information collected through the website will be used only as intended by the sender, for example, to respond to requests for information, for a pastoral visit, or for other contact from the church.

4. Personal information will not be sold or shared with anyone outside the church.

5. Within the church, access to personal information collected on the website will be limited to those with a need to view the information in order to process requests received from the sender. Personal information collected through the website will be destroyed when no longer needed.

Close-up photographs of children thirteen years of age and younger, who are readily identifiable, may be published in a church-sponsored publication or released for publication by an individual or company outside the church body only with the written consent of at least one parent or guardian, following his or her review and approval of the photograph(s) as prepared for publication. Each such photograph also will be approved by the pastor or his/her designee prior to its release for publication.

2. Names of readily identifiable children thirteen years and younger will not be included in any church-sponsored publication without the written consent of a parent or guardian. However, photographs of children thirteen years and younger who are an element of a church-sponsored gathering of adults and children, or a church-sponsored gathering of children, may be published without obtaining written approval of a parent or guardian, provided no closeups are used and provided the event photographed took place in an area generally open to public access. Each such photograph will be approved by the pastor or his designee prior to its publication.

3. Photographs of children over thirteen years of age, adult members, non-members, non-member staff, and tradespeople may be published in a church document or on the web site without approval by the child/children or adult/adults in the photograph or text.

4. No photograph of any individual or group shall be published or released for publication unless it is believed to be non-injurious to the individuals shown in the photograph, as reviewed by the pastor or his designee.
