Join others who bear the responsibility of caring for others. Learn new coping strategies, brainstorm solutions to shared problems, laugh, ask for help, enjoy the time to yourself and seek the spiritual strength you need. The May meeting will bring outside resources to help us in our self-care while we care for others. If you are responsible for an aging parent, a sick friend or young children, or if you are a caregiver by profession, look into this group which meets from 10-11:30 in west end of Fellowship Hall on Second Saturdays. Call if you need to arrange a ride: 414-774-5005.
On Pentecost Sunday we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit to the early church. We wear red because of the symbol of tongues of fire that descended on the gathered people. Those of you who have been to… ahem…Cardinals’ baseball games can attest to the power of a ballpark pulsing with red. Or imagine Camp Randall filled with Badger fans dressed and jumping in red. We want to create a sea of red in the pews on Pentecost, so join in the colorama!
Come to Pastor’s Pub on May 20 at 6 pm—a casual setting of Bible study out in the community. We meet at Pizzeria Piccola on State Street in Tosa Village in an “Upper Room” and explore the Scripture for the coming Sunday while enjoying pizza together. Shared insights help feed the pastor’s imagination for sermon writing and we’ve been known to have a few “aha!” moments as well as “haha” moments. Check it out.
